Acaloa comes from the native Aztec language, Nahuatl, and means “to carve a channel into wood”. To us it means so much more. Each sign or piece of furniture we make is intended to support its recipient, whether that is a business or a family or both. We want to see our clients flourish. We want them to know that we put as much thought and care into our products as they do into their business or home.

As artisans, we work with our hands using traditional techniques. We master our crafts through knowledge passed down by generations. Sign making and woodworking are some of the world’s most ancient crafts. We honor those before us, we offer gratitude to their hard work and sacrifice. And we see it as our duty to carry on the torch they have passed to us. The pyramid in our logo is a nod to the history and importance of this craftmanship.
